Pregnancy is an incredible journey — but it also brings its fair share of physical changes, emotional shifts, and new challenges. Pregnancy reflexology is a gentle, holistic therapy that can provide support throughout each trimester, helping you feel more balanced, relaxed, and comfortable as your body nurtures new life. I had two brilliant but exhausting pregnancies so I know what a rollercoaster pregnancy can be!
As a Reflexologist, I work with care and precision, always tailoring treatments to you and your stage of pregnancy. The waxes and oils I use are all natural (most are organic), chosen for their soothing properties and to keep treatments safe and nourishing for both mother and baby.

What Is Pregnancy Reflexology?
Reflexology is a complementary therapy that works by applying gentle pressure to specific reflex points on the feet. Each reflex point corresponds to different systems and organs in the body. For expectant mothers, reflexology offers a natural way to support relaxation, improve wellbeing, and relieve common pregnancy discomforts.
During pregnancy, extra care is taken to adapt treatments. Up until 37 weeks, I stay clear of the uterus, hypothalamus, and pituitary reflex points, ensuring everything remains safe and supportive. I am not looking to stimulate the uterus/brain connection until the very end of the pregnancy.
First Trimester: How Reflexology Can Help with Nausea, Fatigue and Stress
The first trimester is often a time of excitement but also change, as your body adjusts to early pregnancy. Fatigue, nausea, and heightened emotions are common. Reflexology can help by:
Reducing stress and anxiety: Gentle treatments encourage deep relaxation and emotional balance.
Supporting sleep: Reflexology calms the nervous system, easing restlessness and insomnia.
Easing tension: Sessions can provide grounding and calm at a time when your body feels different.
Second Trimester: Reflexology for Aches, Swelling, and Digestive Balance
As energy levels often increase in the second trimester, many women begin to feel more comfortable. However, the body is still adapting, and common discomforts may arise. Reflexology can support by:
Relieving back and hip pain: Encouraging circulation and easing muscular tension.
Reducing swelling in feet and ankles: Reflexology may help stimulate lymphatic flow and reduce water retention.
Encouraging digestive comfort: Gentle stimulation of the digestive reflexes can ease heartburn or constipation.
Boosting overall wellbeing: A chance to pause, connect, and enjoy nurturing time.
Third Trimester: Relaxation, Hormone Balance, and Labour Preparation
The third trimester can be both exciting and tiring, as your baby grows and your body prepares for birth. Reflexology at this stage can:
Encourage deep relaxation: Helping reduce anxiety and promoting rest in the final weeks.
Ease physical tension: Supporting tired legs, swollen feet, and general discomfort.
Support hormonal balance: Encouraging the body’s natural rhythms as it prepares for labour.
Preparation techniques (from 37 weeks onwards):
If you enjoy the scent, I can diffuse clary sage in the treatment room, which is traditionally associated with labour preparation.
From 37 weeks, I can also draw on my full ‘toolkit’ of reflexology techniques, applying additional methods to gently encourage the body’s readiness for birth.
I will guide you through some calming breathwork in the last 5 minutes of the treatment whilst I do some lymphatic drainage work on the feet.
